The City Chief maestro has traded his helmet for a judge’s gavel. The NFL superstar recently collaborated with famous anchor Jake from State Farm in a ranking game of unpopular sports. 

In a humorous and unexpected move, Mahomes playfully assessed the games, ranking them one after another. Getting an entertaining glimpse into his off-field antics and sporting preferences has been a completely new experience for his fans.

Mahomes’ off-field playbook

The Instagram reel has been posted from the official handle of Jake from State Farm on December 21. With candid commentary, Mahomes, right from the beginning, has captivated the attention of his fans. He kicked off his ranking by awarding the top spot to the unpopular sport of cornhole. Placing the sport at the pinnacle of his list, the NFL star set the tone for his amusing evaluations. 

His casual appreciation for disc ball landed the sport in the second position. Following this, about the game, Mahomes’ light-hearted acknowledgment of “I’ve slept on it” disc golf added a touch of humility. While ranking pickleball in the third position, he said, “That might be controversial. It is really hyped-up right now”.  

In his analysis, the bocce ball received the last spot, that is the fifth place. On being asked about squash, Mahomes got a bit confused about where to place the sport and jokingly gave it the rank for the left-out spot.

Reactions from fans on the playful peek

Mahomes fans who share interests in sports other than the NFL have outpoured their reactions in the comment section of the reel. Even though football was not included within the ranking game, the anticipation of the fans rooting for the sport finds its way in the comment, “I was waiting for Jake to say “football” last”. As Mahomes’ list transpired to be similar to that of one fan, he commented, “I’ve never vibed with Mahomes like this, same list is an unbreakable bond”.

A fan rooted for his favorite sport of pickleball commenting, “C’mon pickle ball deserves more respect! Hype or no hype that game is”. How BBQ event and bocce ball are inseparable has been highlighted in the comment, “Bocce ball is slept on y’all, ya ain’t been to a good BBQ if there wasnt bocce ball there”. Since there has been no popular sports on the list, one comment describing the video reads as, “Obscure Sports Quarterly”. Hence, the reel gifted Mahomes’ fans with a new and playful side of their favorite NFL star.

Even though Mahomes had no intention of demeaning any sport, he took part in this ranking game offering fans a refreshing insight through his candid evaluations. It also brought forward his diverse sporting interests outside of football which helps him grow as an athlete in totality.
