Crediting her father, Richard, for being her guiding force since the initial 2022 comeback, the tennis sensation could not hold back her happy tears during the post-game speech. Acknowledging her first tournament win since the 2014 Hong Kong performance, Lisicki was recorded saying, “Just so thankful to be living this, and to actually have a title here,” but her words of gratitude extended further.
