American tennis player Frances Tiafoe has been in the headlines lately. Yesterday, he managed to knock out a top-seeded player Andrey Rublev in the third round of the US Open. The match went the distance and the winner had to be decided in a five-set thriller.
However, one thing that caught my attention was when Frances Tiafoe did the trademark LeBron James celebration during one of the intriguing moments of the match. In the past too, there have been players who have emulated the basketball legends celebration.

Players like Nick Kyrgios did the same during one of his matches at the Wimbledon Championships this year. The celebration goes in the manner as the player lifts one knee at a time and pushes both hands in force towards the ground. After Tiafoe won the match yesterday, he removed his t-shirt and did the celebration. Even his mother enjoyed it from the stands.
Reflecting on Frances’s season, he began competing in Melbourne and came as far as the second round at the Australian Open. He lost in four sets to eventual champion Novak Djokovic. After that, he competed at the French Open. Unfortunately, he lost in the opening round to fellow American player Steve Johnson.
