A lot is being spoken about the storage on  PlayStation 5. Since the retail space advertised is 1TB, consumers are worried about how much they will actually end up receiving. Leaks have suggested that the SSD will be 664 gigs only.

If true, this is disappointing news for PS5 fans. It would mean a lot of shuffling between games, installing and deleting, to manage space on the console. With AAA franchises like Destiny, Call of Duty, and GTA ever-increasing their game sizes, PS5 owners will need to learn to compromise.

Nonetheless, everything seems to have a silver lining and PS5 has an impressive one of its own. While space might be a factor, the speed on the SSD is astonishingly fast.

A handful of Japanese Youtubers yesterday were part of a program that tested the PS5 console ahead of launch. A video emerged from that event which showed us exactly how smooth and fast PlayStation 5 is going to be. The games played were Astro’s Playroom and Godfall.

PS5 set the record with Godfall, loading the game within seven seconds! This speed is a record for the SSD and a promise delivered by the Sony. In fact, the respawn time, after your character has died, is almost instantaneous.

It is not an exaggeration to say that there is simply no loading time in Godfall on PS5.

What does this mean for PlayStation?

The credit to these ultra-fast loading speeds is all on PS5’s SSD. Though they are hurting the space provided to install games, consumers might actually let that go if gaming becomes this smooth and fast.

Nonetheless, different games are still expected to have different loading times. They all might be equally impressive and we will know more about them as these tests continue before the November launch.

Further to that, the devs of various studios are posed with another problem. The disappearance of loading screens will mean that the information on those screens will have to go somewhere else. The instructions and guidelines have to be fit in elsewhere, without the game losing its appeal.

More information on this regard is expected to be available soon. Watch the original review video below.
