A dramatic Brazilian Grand Prix 2019 came to a close with Max Verstappen winning in Interlagos. However, the real story was what unfolded behind him on the track. With the Ferrari driver civil war resulting in Vettel and Leclerc being eliminated from the equation. A pleasantly surprised Pierre Gasly found himself 4th.

There was even more drama as Lewis Hamilton clobbered Alex Albon and the Frenchman was promoted to 2nd. He held on in spite of pressure from the damaged Mercedes of Hamilton.

Hamilton finished 3rd, pending an investigation by the stewards for the Albon incident. However, once he crossed the finish line, Pierre Gasly was past caring about what happened to Hamilton. The young Toro Rosso driver’s joy was obvious, from the whoops of delight on the team radio.
