The launch of new consoles by Sony and Microsoft defined the year 2020 for gamers. Both the major console manufacturers came out with another generation of their consoles. While Sony released a digital and a disc version of the PlayStation 5, Microsoft went for a different approach. It released the Xbox Series X, the flagship model, and the Series S, its affordable alternative.
Both the Series X and the Series S have been a major success among Xbox fans. Those who received the consoles have also expressed their satisfaction after they experienced games on a newer generation of Xbox. Moreover, Series X is one of the few platforms where Cyberpunk 2077 runs smoothly.
There have only been positive reactions to the new consoles from Microsoft. However, there is one front where Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, and his team disappointed fans. He addressed the issue in his last interview of 2020.

How do we get more?” So it’s something that we’re constantly working on, but it’s not just us. I think gaming has really come into its own in 2020.”

Phil clarified that the year has been rough on every end. The team behind Xbox Series X|S has been trying its best to make sure they have a console for everyone who is willing to buy it. However, the constant delays on the logistical end because of the pandemic have held them back.
