Williams’ decision to partner George Russel with Robert Kubica has to be the worst kept secret in Formula One now. There were reports earlier, which the Polish driver refuted, but now the same publication claimed that the announcement could be made as early as tomorrow.

But to remove that one bit of speculation that would have remained, Formula One’s official website, has leaked the announcement via a video. It was taken down shortly after, but nonetheless, here is the video for you to watch:

Return of Robert Kubica will be a very remarkable moment for the driver after his rally crash in 2011, which left him unable to drive in Formula One.  He earlier revealed that he even had a Ferrari drive in his hands, before meeting the dreadful accident.

There have been multiple stories pertaining to Kubica and his return. Some stories pointed out to a potential funding for the Polish driver, while some said he had made up his mind to be a Ferrari reserve and simulation driver along with Pascal Wehrlein.

Irrespective of anything, Kubica’s move to Williams is now final, the details of which we will get to know very soon. The team seems to have made the call after finding that Kubica was faster than both Stroll and Sirotkin based on the data collected from Friday and simulation runs. After coming last in the constructors standing, they finally seemed to have made the right call to prioritise talent over anything else, with their driver selection.

The Italian publication La Gazetta Dello Sport claims that despite Kubica’s bringing in less money than Sirotkin, his speed and the fact that “he was always faster”  made the team pick their call.

Kubica is also in a rush to be announced after he came extremely close to a drive last year as well, only to be thrown away by Sergei Sirotkin, who came with a huge funding to back himself up.
