Jackie Young was drafted as the number one pick in the first draft of the WNBA 2019. Her game changed significantly as she had to play as a point guard rather than the shooting guard position she had played in college.

The Indiana-born had signed a four-year contract with the Aces with an average salary of $59,071. The overall contract was of $236,283. At the time she was one of the lowest-paid athletes on the team.

However, things took a turn after the 4-year contract was over. The Commissioner’s Cup 2022 champion then signed a 2-year $504,900 contract with the Aces. This time she had an average salary of $252,450. As per NBC Sports Chicago, Young was the highest-earning player for the WNBA during the 2023 season.

Her base salary for the 2022-23 season was $72,141 with a cap hit of $72,141 whereas for the 2023-24 season, her base salary will amount to $165,000. Young will be a free agent in 2025 and have a cap hit and base salary equal to $169,950.

Young proved quite deserving of the salary as she basketed 17.6 points on average with 4 rebounds per contest and 3.8 assists per match.

The 2022 WNBA Most Improved Player had a 44.9% 3-point field goal percentage. With her efforts, she was instrumental in helping her team win back-to-back championships.

How many endorsements has Jackie Young signed?

Young back in 2019 signed a deal with the sporting giants, Puma, as part of their brand re-emergence plan. Puma wanted to increase their sports’ presence and Young provided a perfect opportunity for that.

The company also made its return to the NBA a year ago after a long absence of 20 years. Young was given the responsibility of headlining the third PUMA sneaker. The 2x WNBA Champion was particularly elated with the fact that another athlete Skylar Diggins Smith who belonged to Indiana and went to the same college as her – Notre Dame – had previously inked a deal with the same company.

Skyler Diggins Smith must have inspired Young back then as the former had led the Irish to three consecutive Final Four appearances between 2011-13 with two Finals entries. On the other hand, Young had guided the Notre Dame to the 2018 NCAA Championship title.

It also marked the second consecutive year when PUMA signed the no. 1 pick. Previously, in 2018 they had made a deal with Deandre Ayton who was drafted by the Phoenix Suns.

Young performed quite well during that year as she was named to the WNBA All-Rookie team. She had 153 assists and a 2.89 assist/turnover. In addition to this, Young had 3.3 rebounds per match and 6.6 points per contest. This helped establish Young as a formidable force to be reckoned with.

It looks like with consecutive wins Young’s endorsements might increase and also she will continue to dominate both on the court with her skills and off the court with her salaries. It will be fitting to see her in the next season and also if in the future she will stick to the Aces after their second win. Do let us know your thoughts about the same in the comments below.
