Kelsey Plum backs her 2x WNBA champion teammate

The Las Vegas Aces’ 30-year-old point guard Chelsea Gray is one of the greatest PGs in the WNBA. Drafted 11th overall in 2014, now, 2 WNBA championships and 5 All-Star selections later, her resume speaks volumes. Besides her on-court skills, her recent collaboration with the iconic Adidas and Damian Lillard has caught the attention of her teammate Kelsey Plum and WNBA enthusiasts worldwide.

The 29-year-old Plum recently took to Instagram and shared a story of teammate Gray’s new collaboration. This once-exclusive player shoe made its debut during the Las Vegas Aces’ game versus the Chicago Sky last season.

The sneaker is covered in a vibrant palette of pastel colors. The player’s favorite color, vibrant orange, is prominently displayed on the forefoot and tongue tab of the shoe. A dramatic light purple pattern is used to decorate the rest of the top. Hot pink accents on the inner heel and Bounce-cushioned midsole contrast with the multicolored background to create metallic silver stripes that stand out against it. Check it out!

Besides having a collaboration, Gray also shares a hometown connection with the Portland Trail Blazers star. Hailing from California itself, the 3-stripes have given a tribute to both the NBA and WNBA stars. While Lillard’s future is still hanging in the balance, Gray and the Aces are set for a successful playoff campaign.

Las Vegas’ successful regular season campaign can’t be credited to any one single player, with the Aces having an All-Star lineup backing their regular season form. While maintaining their impressive performance, the Aces are not solely focused on securing a playoff spot. Their sights are set on a triumphant title defense.

If the Aces clinch the 2023 WNBA championship, it will mark the first successful title defense since the 2002 LA Sparks. With their stacked lineup including Kelsey Plum, A’ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray, the Aces are resolute in their quest to make history and secure their legacy among the league’s all-time greatest champions.
