Fans are eager to know the outcome of this best-of-five series which will decide this year’s champions.

According to Who Holds The Title, the first-ever franchise to achieve back-to-back championships was the Houston Comets. They won the titles for the league’s first four seasons, that was from 1997 to 2000. Under the leadership of stars like Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, and Tina Thompson, the Comets secured these titles. In all of their four victories, Cynthia Cooper was named the MVP all four times. 

The second franchise to achieve the back-to-back championships was the Los Angeles Sparks. The Sparks secured back-to-back championships in the 2001 and 2002 WNBA seasons. They were led by players like Lisa Leslie and Tameka Dixon during this successful period. In their victories, Lisa Leslie was named the MVP both times.
