She said, “D’s (Diana Taurasi) the goat. She is breaking records year after year and you never know the spice she’s gonna bring.” Building on this statement, Chambers asked Stewart, did she ever had a debate with Taurasi about their GOAT-ness, to which Stewart replied, “I think maybe later in life we’ll have a debate about GOAT-ness. She’s still going and I’m still going.”

While Stewart’s words have sparked a non-ending debate of GOAT-ness between these two legends, her recognition of Taurasi’s excellence demonstrates the respect these athletes have for one another.

Notably, Breanna Stewart had one of the best career seasons in the 2023 WNBA season.

The WNBA MVP

The New York Liberty had one of their greatest seasons this year and it’s all thanks to their star forward, Stewart. Not only did she lead her team to the championship finals, but she was also named the 2023 WNBA MVP by defeating Alyssa Thomas and A’ja Wilson. During the season she averaged 23 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game.

But, sadly, their bull run came to an end as they lost the championship title to the Las Vegas Aces after losing three matches of the best-of-five series final game. But the Lady Liberties didn’t let this get to them as they are now preparing for a huge comeback in the 2024 WNBA season and they plan to stop at nothing but a win. With players like Sabrina Ionescu, Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and many more, the Liberty have one of the best rosters in the league.
