Sabrina Ionescu has proved to be the best shooter in the history of the women’s league, but her WNBA’s Stephen Curry title has come under a threat now. Her contender is none other than the college star Caitlin Clark who continues to give a stellar performance in the ongoing NCAA season. 

In a highly anticipated matchup between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Cleveland State Vikings, Clark stood out the most. As the match started, Clark gave one of her best performances as she reached the 38-point mark, leading her team to a flawless victory.

In the twelfth match of the Hawkeyes against the Vikings, the game ended with the final score of 104-75 in favor of the Lady Hawkeyes. In this match, Clark dropped 38 points, secured 5 rebounds, and made 5 assists, which helped her surpass the former Iowa State player Ashley Joens for the ninth position on the all-time scoring list. 

Not only did Clark secure the ninth position, but with her exceptional shooting ability, she also tied a career-high with nine out-of-sixteen 3-pointers in a single game. This is the highest number of pointers she has made in a game throughout her career. Her performance in this game led to many fans comparing her with the WNBA star, Sabrina Ionescu.

Many anticipate that Clark might be taking the WNBA’s Stephen Curry title from Ionescu if she continues to elevate her game. She is currently averaging 41.3% of three’s in the ongoing NCAA season, whereas Ionescu averaged 62.6% in the 2023 WNBA season.

Notably, Caitlin Clark is leading the Hawkeyes to their one of the best seasons ever in the 2023-24 NCAA season.

Clark and the Hawkeyes have already won eleven out of the twelve matches they have played till now.

The only loss they have recorded so far was against Kansas State which also happened to be the worst shooting night of Clark’s career. But being one of the best teams in the league they jumped right back up and haven’t lost another match since that.
