Tiafoe and Serena Williams had once played on the court together

In the Hopman Cup in 2019, Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe competed in a mixed doubles tennis match together. They played against Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic. A crowded stadium in Perth watched Federer and Serena square off for the first time. The Swiss team triumphed in the mixed doubles match. Tiafoe’s serve was broken as Federer and Bencic took command of the first set, and the American duo was helpless to respond.

The 42-year-old Williams has been a professional tennis player for the past 3 decades, longer than Frances has been alive. Her dominance in the sport is difficult to fathom. The former No.1 in the world holds the most combined major titles in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles among active players.
