The sporting realm has witnessed a number of miracles involving some of the greatest athletes. Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan, in his iconic “Flu Game”, defied all the odds to win the 1997 NBA Finals. Another miracle was recently witnessed when Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes put up a remarkable show despite struggling with a high right ankle sprain. While talking about these performances, a renowned sports platform hailed all such athletes. A similarly astonishing event involving the American tennis great, Serena Williams, was, however, left out of the conversation.

It was her husband, Alexis Ohanian, who came to remind them of the same. Here’s why the American entrepreneur brought to light his wife’s name.

Chiefs quarterback suffered a right ankle sprain during his team’s incredible playoff victory in the previous week. Such injuries usually rule out an NFL player for a minimum of two weeks, or even more than that. However, Patrick Mahomes showed no signs of struggle as he didn’t miss a single practice session while also confirming his availability for the AFC Championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Later, he also turned out to be the Chiefs’ star man during their victory against Cincinnati.

Another similar event was witnessed in 1997, which involves the NBA legend, Michael Jordan, playing his iconic “Flu Game”, during the Chicago Bulls’ remarkable triumph. Talking about these athletes, the renowned sports platform, The Athletic hailed their fighting spirit and sportsmanship. Notably, they took to their Twitter account to talk about such events in the history of the sporting community. Mahomes’ “legacy-defining” performance was highlighted in their social media post.

To remind them of another “legacy-defining” performance, her husband, Alexis Ohanian, took to the comments section of the tweet. The American internet entrepreneur shared a picture of Williams in which she was spotted posing with her 2017 Australian Open trophy. He further added the caption, “+1,” to suggest her inclusion in the most iconic moments in the history of the sporting realm.

Ohanian accompanied Williams during that event

The Reddit cofounder was there with his tennis star wife when she was playing in the Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne, back in 2017. Ohanian, who has often accompanied Williams during her tournaments, was also there for her when she was pregnant.

A bizarre incident happened involving the renowned couple who were just engaged then. The American legend, while holding her trophy, greeted everyone in the locker room. However, Williams snubbed her husband, who was standing beside the American supermodel, Karlie Kloss.
