Even when the 7-time Grand Slam champion arrived in Florida with her family to train at the World famous Rick Macci Academy, her father was always influencing their training schedule. It wasn’t the coach alone that designed the sisters’ schedule, but it also included their father’s input.

Recently, he opened up about the training of Venus Williams in the Functional Tennis Podcast. He said, “In an interview in 1992, let me tell me you right now, you can’t see it, I use it as a tool to teach, shorten her back swing, take the ball early, a bad volley is good, a good volley is great and a great volley is spectacular on grass. “

And the 7-time Grand Slam champion has won 5 of her crowns at the Royal courts of Wimbledon. Over 70% of her Grand Slam title wins have come on grass courts. Certainly, the surprise technique of the coach did help her accomplish a rare and historic feat.
