Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has earned quite a big name after her brilliant show at the French Open 2021. Her clinical performances in Paris have helped her to seal her first-ever semi-final slot in Grand Slams.
Born in Samara, Russia, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova started playing tennis at the age of six. She has had quite a few athletes in her family as her grandmother was a professional basketball player, her father was a rower, and her mother was a swimmer. Interestingly, her brother, Alexander, also played professional tennis for some time.
Pavlyuchenkova won two junior Grand Slams titles and even became the junior World No.1 player in January 2006 at the age of 14. After turning professional, the Russian achieved her highest WTA ranking (No.13) in July 2011. She has been there on the list of top 50 WTA players since 2008 and is currently World No.32 in the rankings.

Intriguingly, Pavlyuchenkova participated in 48 consecutive Grand Slams between the 2008 French Open to the 2020 Australian Open. This proves that even though she lacks consistency, she is up to the mark when it comes to her physical fitness.
Titles won by Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on tour
So far, Pavlyuchenkova has won twelve singles titles and five doubles titles on tour. In addition, the 29-year-old also has five singles titles and eight doubles titles on the ITF circuit.
The two of the biggest titles that she has won are the 2014 OPEN GDF Suez and the 2014 Kremlin Cup. However, if she succeeds at the French Open 2021, it’ll certainly be the biggest accomplishment of her career.
