Once the year-end championships are over, the tennis season officially comes to an end(there are exceptions, for sure). What follows next would be the awards for players on both the WTA and the ATP tours.
While ATP is currently receiving votes for various categories, the women’s tour has announced their awards for the 2021 season. Players like Ash Barty, Emma Raducanu, Barbora Krejcikova won the accolades in different categories.

Ever since her rise to top in women’s tennis, Ashleigh Barty has always been a consistent performer. Even though she has only two major titles to show, she rightfully held the no.1 title besides not playing much last year.
The Australian dominated the tour this year as she won her first-ever Wimbledon crown alongside winning titles at Miami, Stuttgart, and Cincinnati.

Apart from Barty, Emma Raducanu wins the newcomer of the year after scripting history by winning the US Open. Raducanu started off at the tournament as a qualifier and went on to win the title without losing a set.
Also, legendary Spanish tennis player Carla Suarez Navarro deservedly wins the Comeback player of the year for putting up some memorable performance on the WTA tour after battling cancer.
Krejcikova wins dual honor after spectacular 2021 season

Barbora Krejcikova, who surprised fans by winning the French Open title earlier this year, was awarded the most improved player of the year. The Czech player also won the doubles title at Roland Garros.
Krejcikova, along with Katerina Siniakova, won the doubles team of the year for their splendid performances across the year. Along with winning Roland Garros, the duo won the WTA Finals in Guadalajara and also reached the finals at the Australian Open.
