Serena Williams was the youngest among her sisters in the house. Not just younger to her well-known sister, Venus, but to three other sisters out of the 11 children of her parents, Oracene Price and Richard Williams. Understandably, it was a pretty packed and bustling household. Just like any other younger sibling, the 23 Grand Slam champion had to navigate differently with all her siblings.

In a recent interview with People magazine, she opened up about her journey as a mother to two daughters, Olympia and Adira. Olympia was born in September 2017, while Adira joined the family in August 2023. Both girls are always in the spotlight in Serena’s social media posts and during interviews. Serena embraces being a hands-on mother and loves sharing insights into her parenting journey.

During the chat, she expressed a special connection with her youngest child, Adira. “Olympia is a very hard act to follow, but I tell you what, Adira has followed it and it’s just so crazy,” she said. Adira’s confident personality shines through in videos and posts. Serena describes her as “amazing” and “a tough little cookie” who reminds her of herself.

“I have a little soft spot for the younger sister, so I’m like, ‘You go girl, you can do it too.’ And I love that,” Williams added. As the youngest sibling herself, she understands the bond between sisters. Even though a 15-month age gap between her and Venus is different from the five-year gap between Olympia and Adira.

All these moments are beautifully captured on her social media. Just the other week, she shared a glimpse of how she gets them to do their work.

On November 22, Serena Williams shared a delightful video on social media, showcasing a special day she planned for her eldest daughter, Olympia. The 7-year-old was all smiles, enjoying quality time with her “super momma.” Serena set up a fun activity where Olympia had to choose between two cards without peeking. In a humorous twist, both cards included “Homework,” ensuring that Olympia would tackle her schoolwork with her mother’s help. Serena later revealed, “I wanted to give Olympia a special day. She did cry when she pulled the homework card, but the day got better. 💕 Enjoy this post in TikTok.”

After the initial surprise, Olympia moved on to more exciting choices. One card led her to an escape room adventure, while the other offered an arcade experience. She picked the escape room, and off they went for some family fun! Their day continued with a visit to McDonald’s and a pampering session for a pedicure. The activities didn’t stop there; Olympia also spent time with her younger sister, Adira, creating potions and playing Roblox together.

Reflecting on her role as a mother, Williams once said in a 2018 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, “I do. I hope I am, and I’m going to strive to be the best mom I can be.” Fast forward to today, and she has truly become a super momma! Serena is “obsessed” with her kids and loves every moment spent with them. She mentioned, “I spend all day with them… my whole life is like ok, being with Olympia, being with Adira.” This heartwarming confession by the WTA GOAT showcases how much she is enjoying motherhood.
