Venus Williams, the former World No 1, has played numerous decisive shots and rallied to clinch the wins and Grand slam titles. But did you know that there is something that once made this fierce tennis diva nervous and indecisive? Spending money! Yes, the Seven-time grand slam champion once opened up about her spending habits in an interview.

Observing the spending trajectory of successful athletes, one could only dream of the assets that they own. However, the tennis legend appeared to be on another side of the spectrum when it came to spending her hard-earned rewards.

Venus Williams opened up about her spending habits and indecisiveness

The elder Williams sibling is worth nearly $100 million today. However, in an interview with CNN, the then 28-year-old star revealed how spending money makes her nervous. She said, “I try to invest smart, I’m not a baller. I’m not a blinger. I don’t do any of those things, except for this ring, but this ring is special, it’s from my matches. But I just, you know, big buys make me very nervous. It really makes me so nervous, and I have to think about it forever.”

Moreover, the seven-time Grand Slam champion further revealed her indecisiveness and shying away from expensive buys; yet like every other girl, she confessed her love for shopping, “I mean in my family, I’m known as someone who can’t make a decision, I have to think about it for ages. So you’re not going to see me with expensive watches. If I do have one, someone got for me, hopefully soon, ok soon. But you know, I’m just a practical girl, I like to shop just like any other girl, but that’s about it,” she added.
