Challengers: Proud Mentor Serena Williams Reacts to Zendaya’s Voguish Homage to Her and Sister Venus Williams

Zendaya’s successful Vogue and British Vogue cover story received a thumbs-up from none other than Serena Williams. The Spider-Man actress requested the Olympic gold-medalist WTA star to drop some advice about life in general before the shoot. However, Serena Williams in her usual funny mode replied with an “Ask someone else”.
Now, Zendaya shared her latest look for the Challengers and it left the tennis fraternity’s jaws dropping again. For the dual Vogue and British Vogue shoot, Zendaya took her fashion game to the next level to recreate Serena Williams and her sister’s iconic Vogue cover shoot in 1998. The Dune II actress shared her look on her official Instagram profile story with a caption– “An ode to the GREATS @venuswilliams @serenawilliams. We thank you for all you have done!” This story was shared by the tennis legend Serena Williams on her Instagram profile. Fans also spotted Williams sharing her sister Lyndrea Price’s adorable reaction, she said- “Love this @zendaya @serena Williams and @venuswilliams”.

The Challengers actress’s Vogue cover story look presented her in the same iconic monochrome striped gown that the Williams sisters wore for the shoot. Zendaya’s designer Carolina Herrara did an outstanding job recreating the dress with her hair stylist Kim Komble making the perfect braided wig to pay homage to Williams’s sisters’ iconic hairstyles. However, the final seal of approval came from Serena Williams who appreciated the team’s efforts to pay tribute to the iconic tennis duo. Meanwhile, as Zendaya talked about her life’s struggles in a recent interview with vogue, she had a special request for Serena Williams.

Zendaya approached Serena Williams for mentorship
The Challengers movie protagonist had to interact with Serena Williams as the movie revolves around tennis. Moreover, Zendaya seemed so enamored by the American Grand Slam winner that she sought her mentorship. Zendaya said– “I’d love to pick your brain about life and business. I think I need more mentors and community and people around.”
Furthermore, the famous Hollywood actress shared her struggles with Williams. She revealed how she left her school to become the sole breadwinner at fourteen. She also mentioned how she lost the ability to celebrate wins in her career amidst the cutthroat competition to stay relevant in the industry.
