Notably, the 23-time singles Grand Slam champion recently opened up about her love for comic books. In doing so, Williams also revealed that she is a huge fan of comics from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The 7-time Wimbledon champion further talked about her favorite Marvel Cinematic character. She also surprised the audience by revealing that she was initially fascinated with DC Comics.

The 23-time singles Grand Slam champion was recently featured in a podcast where she opened up about an unknown side of her. Serena Williams revealed that she loves comics and that she has been in love with Marvel Universe for a very long time. Meanwhile, she also revealed how she got fascinated with comics from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Williams stated, “So obviously when Black Panther came out I already knew about it I’ve been following in particular. I follow the Avengers for a while before the movies came out. Honestly, it was the animation that I followed and then the comics I really kind of know all the back history. And the backstory of all of them.”

The American tennis legend answered by saying that “As a kid I was more into DC Comics. Okay. So it goes way, way, way, way back. I mean, I’m talking about the super old Superman from forever ago.”
Williams then revealed how she got fascinated with Marvel comics. She said, “But I think everyone fell in love with Marvel because they did so much with everything you know, and they just started hammering out amazing movies.”

Williams revealed that her sister also liked Marvel comics
During the podcast, the 23-time singles Grand Slam champion was asked if her sister is also fascinated with Marvel comics. Serena answered by saying that her sister liked them too. However, they never really collected them. Williams went on to say that she always kind of enjoyed them as well.
