The World No.5 survived an early scare, as she lost the first set to the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, trailing 6-4, including 5 double faults. Consequently, the finale of the Australian Open was anything but a cakewalk for the Belarusian, as she battled for every point. However, Sabalenka didn’t let the early debacle get to her, as she switched gears, to tackle the challenge posed by the Wimbledon champion 2022, and took two subsequent sets; claiming the championship.

The hard-fought battle ended with a much-deserving win for the Sabalenka team. And the Wimbledon finalist, Ons Jabeur, and Sabalenka’s best friend, Paula Badosa, joined the ecstatic tennis fans to congratulate her.
