Emma Raducanu Emulates Roger Federer During a Practice Session, Surprises Fans With Her Technique

After stunning the tennis world with an amazing three-week run at the US Open that resulted her in winning a first major title, British teenage sensation Emma Raducanu has caught the eye-balls of the public since the victory and brought herself scores of fans who were willing to follow her journey.
Quality-wise, the US Open this year would be right on top in comparison to the other three slams. Both men’s and women’s singles draws produced top-notch tennis throughout the event.

Along with Raducanu, another youngster Leylah Fernandez also dismissed quality players like Naomi Osaka, Angelique Kerber, Elina Svitolina, etc., before bowing down to the Brit in the finals.

The Brit is yet to announce her comeback tournament on the WTA tour. She might participate in the Indian Wells Masters, which is scheduled to start from the fourth of October. The tournament organizers are yet to provide a wild card to the US Open champion.

Raducanu has more than a fair chance of receiving the wild-card for Indian Wells. Also, the youngster split with coach Andrew Richardson as she stated that she would need someone with prior coaching experience on the WTA tour.
Along with this modification, Emma also appeared to have made a big change to her game before making a comeback on the tour. The Brit appeared to be practicing a single-handed backhand during one of her practice sessions.

In one of the videos posted on her Instagram stories, Raducanu could be seen hitting a few one-handed backhand shots and wrote, “During my time off I decided to make the switch to a 1 hander…hope u understand”.

It was quite common to see a lot of players experimenting with a one-handed backhand during their practice sessions. After looking at the message posted by the Brit under the clip, it looked as if Raducanu might be serious in implementing this change to her game.
Anyways, only time will tell whether Emma Raducanu has really chosen to adopt the single-handed backhand style or it was all just a fun experiment to tease her fans.
