Raducanu might have to play qualifiers at Indian Wells
With several former players from Britain praising Raducanu for not bowing down to the pressures of the moment and remaining calm throughout the final against Leylah Fernandez, fans are eagerly waiting to see this youngster back in action on a tennis court again.
As we are just a few days away from the start of Indian Wells Masters, it’s evident that the Brit would want to take part in this huge event. Even though the US Open title gave a huge boost to her rankings, Indian Wells seeds will be based on the tournaments before the US Open.

Due to this, Raducanu might have to play the qualifiers in order to make it to the main draw of BNP Paribas Open this year. However, there is a very high chance of her being awarded a wild card by the tournament organizers.
Either way, the current world no.23 will most likely be playing the marquee event in California. After the event gets over, the Brit can choose to play another 500 series event in Moscow.

Along with Raducanu, several top players are present in the initial entry list. Garbine Muguruza, who is looking to make a huge impact towards the tail end of the season, might choose to go to Moscow depending on Indian Wells’ performance.
Winner of two Olympic medals in Tokyo recently, Belinda Bencic is also in the main draw. Bencic, who recently said that she will try her best to be in the race to WTA Finals, will look to grab those 500 points in Russia.
The Kremlin Cup was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, Bencic won the women’s singles event by defeating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the finals.
Besides Bencic and Muguruza, other seeds include Maria Sakkari, Angelique Kerber, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Elena Rybakina, Ons Jabeur, and Elise Mertens. 2019 US Open winner Bianca Andreescu’s name was also present in the initial acceptance list.

With the likes of aforementioned top stars, there is scope for players like Danielle Collins and Daria Kasatikina to make their mark in the Kremlin Cup this year.
The only disadvantage for the event is that it starts immediately after Indian Wells and due to this, there might be a few player withdrawals from the current entry list.
