Chris Evert’s cancer has returned after almost two years! But now she not only has a will to fight it, but she also has a bunch of people to stand by her side through her tough time. Not only that but for the same reason, the 69-year-old American tennis legend withdrew her name from the Australian Open. While Evert is fighting cancer, she recently shared a little update on her cancer treatment.

Recently, when the 18-time Grand Slam champion shared a health update and expressed gratitude for her ex-husband, Andy Mill, she received a lot of messages from popular faces around her. Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova‘s wife, Donna Vekic, Rennae Stubbs, and Tracy Austin share their supportive words for Evert’s struggle with cancer.

Recently, the former world number one who is fighting cancer took to her Instagram account to share a little update on how she is halfway through her fight. She shared a picture of herself while taking the chemo treatment and also shared a selfie with her ex-husband, Mill.

Along with that, she wrote, “Onto my 3rd round of Chemo; halfway there—a reminder to get your checkups, know your family history, and be your own advocate with your health. Early detection is crucial! It doesn’t hurt to have a good support system like I do :)”

She shared a gentle reminder for her fans and thanked her ex-husband for being a huge support throughout this cancer journey. Apart from that, she also received some comforting comments from different tennis personalities.

Billie Jean King, who has seen Evert closely on and off the court, was one of the first ones to drop a comment. King wrote, “Thinking of you and sending our love and support your way.” On the other hand, while Navratilova is a good friend to Evert, her wife also extended her support to Evert’s fight for cancer. Julia Lemigova wrote, “Sending you lots of strength and love.”

Even, Serena Williams‘ former coach Stubbs also dropped a simple comment, and wrote, “🙌🙌❤️❤️love you!” subsequently, Tracy Austin also shared a message, “Sending lots of strength and love your way Chrissie! Thinking of you❤️❤️.” While on the other hand, Donna Vekić dropped a red heart emoji in the same comment section.

Evert’s reflections concerning her cancer

Although the American tennis legend recovered from her early stage of ovarian cancer a few years ago. Her worst fears of battling with cancer came to her once again, when she got diagnosed for the second time a few weeks ago.

At that time, she stated, “Since I was first diagnosed with cancer two years ago, I’ve been very open about my experience. I wanted to give all of you an update. My cancer is back.” It won’t be wrong to say that the 69-year-old American tennis legend has been sharing her updates throughout her recovery journey, leaving no stone to leave fans stressed over her health.
