American tennis prodigy Coco Gauff, and world number 1 Iga Swiatek are among the top contenders for the title. The WTA tour has been pretty inconsistent this year. Apart from world number 1 Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff, the rest have not maintained a similar consistency. Notably, the Australian Open champion from this year, Ashleigh Barty, took the surprising decision to retire from the sport while Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina failed to qualify.
