Coco Gauff is currently busy preparing herself for the upcoming season. She started the 2024 season by winning the title at the ASB Classic and ended it by winning the WTA Finals. What lies ahead of her in 2025? Time will tell! Gauff has already landed in Australia to take part in the United Cup. She also celebrated Christmas Eve on ‘The Land Down Under’ with her family. Gauff was seen enjoying the Swing carousel ride and then while watching the fireworks, she also sent everyone a heartfelt message saying, “Merry Christmas Eve.” Even her family members shared glimpses of those heartwarming family moments on social media. What does Gauff think of these precious moments?
Amid busy schedules throughout the season, tennis players hardly get time to spend with their families. So, in this off-season, apart from her intense training sessions, Coco Gauff was also spotted enjoying her time to the fullest with her family. On December 25, she reposted a Christmas greeting by ‘Dixie Hart Designs’ on her IG stories with the caption, “Happy birthday Jesus.”
Team USA will take on Canada on Sunday, December 29. Coco Gauff will face Leylah Fernandez in her first match. How does it feel to have her family by her side during this time accompany her during a tournament? “It’s really great to bring my family here on my first Christmas away from home . . . it was important for them to be able to come with me,” said the 20-year-old American.

She further added, “They’re on Christmas break too, so for (my little brothers) to see another part of the world at such a young age is also pretty cool.” Coco Gauff is often seen reflecting on the enormous contributions of her family to her career. So, getting the chance to spend Christmas and New Year with them would surely bring her some joy amid the intense pressure of getting a good start in the upcoming season.
Talking about the support she receives from her parents, Gauff once said, “Both my parents are constant support all the time.” She also spoke about how her mother, Candi helped her a lot during the Asian swing. “My mom, it’s just a motherly thing. There’s nothing like a mother-daughter relationship. Especially in swings like Asia where it maybe is more isolated than usual, we just play Uno lot. She’s my biggest fan for sure. Having one or both of my parents I think always makes the tournament easier. You don’t have to take care of some things.”
Coco Gauff also acknowledged that her mother had helped her with everything, starting from packing her things to giving her support when she needs the most during the Tour. How does she feel though when she sees her parents in the stands during her matches? “In the match, I try not to look at my parents too much, but definitely when I have a big ‘Come on!’ or I scream, I look at them because they kind of hype me up,” said Gauff in an interview with CBS This Morning in 2019.

She also added, “And then sometimes when I feel a little bit tight during a match, I look at them because they just give me fist pumps, so that just shows me that everything’s gonna be okay. They’re definitely my biggest supporters.” Now with the 2025 season knocking at the doors, she’ll be looking forward to getting these supports in her road to clinching her second Grand Slam title. What are her chances in the upcoming season though?

Coco Gauff picked as the favorite in the 2025 AO
Former WTA pro, Andrea Petkovic was asked what are Coco Gauff’s chances at the upcoming Australian Open. In reply to that question on The Rennae Stubbs Podcast (December 16), she said, “I think that Coco Gauff will be one of the favorites.” She further elaborated, “I think the way she played the rest of the season after the US Open was so impressive, changing the grip on the serve. She needed to do, but in the middle of the season, so much respect for that. And I think she will be one of the favorites.” Even Rennae Stubbs thinks the same!
Gauff’s best record at the AO was reaching the SF this year! Now, it’ll be interesting to see how far she goes this time around. Eubanks said, “We’ve seen so much greatness from her at such a young age, I think it’s safe to say that she will become world number one. I think although it’s a big points deficit, I think she can do it next year.“
