Coco Gauff on playing in Ashe and order of play
The American teenager has shown her worth on the court. She has performed to her level best, and now has reached the quarter-finals of the hard-court major. When asked about her take on playing all the matches in Ashe and how she feels about that, she replied, “Definitely. I would say I am getting more comfortable.” The player did not expect that she would have to play in Ashe for her first round at the US Open too. World no. 12 said, “The first couple times on Ashe, I was very nervous. I don’t know, I was really shocked. My first round I was shocked that I was being put on Ashe.”
However, she got used to it sooner than expected and this helped the player to be more confident on the court. She said, “Then happened again the second round. At that point, I figured maybe it would keep happening, especially when Serena was playing.”
