‘Gives Me Thrills and Adrenaline Rush’- Emma Raducanu on Interests Outside Tennis

Emma Raducanu put up a fierce competition against Czech Katerina Siniakova in the Miami Open 2022. However, the 53rd seed stayed resilient and came out victorious. Emma, in her press conference, presented that her aim was to complete her first full season on tour with no injuries and talked about her balanced life along with playing tennis.

Emma talked about a balanced life along with playing tennis. When further asked to elaborate about her interests apart from tennis, she said, “Right now my interests, I really like motor sport, so Formula One, Moto GP. They kind of give me the thrills and adrenaline rush I always kind of seek”. The young 11th ranked player gave the reason she cannot pursue her interests. She mentioned, “Because it’s a bit dangerous for tennis, unfortunately”. She, however, has kept a track of the races and always is updated about it. Though time stays restricted for the British tennis player, she doesn’t miss out on a good quality time with her loved ones. Apart from the buzz and thrill of motor sport, she mentioned, “I just try and spend time with my family and friends, yeah, catch up, always following the races”.

Emma Raducanu was defeated by a score of 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 against the 53rd ranked Siniakova. The issue that remained prevalent was the lack of consistency. She had to face a defeat because of similar reasons during the Indian Wells too. Though Raducanu could start strong and get a lead, she could not stay persistent and ended up losing the result.

The authorities have chosen Emma Raducanu as one of the players from Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Up against the Czech Republic. It will be her debut in the Cup and her first professional match on a clay court.
