‘Gonna Be Fun’ – Venus Williams Imagines Successful Lipstick Experiment As A Cosmetic WTA Truth Comes To The Fore

Two powerful women shook tennis and added a bit of color to it ever since they entered the game. They left the sport much better than when they first stepped into it. Be it a fashion game or a tennis match, Serena Williams and Venus Williams became their own competition. From introducing classic braids to funky yet professional outfits on the field, they became equally exciting for people to track them on and off the field. Venus even launched her own fashion brand, ‘EleVen’ nearly 15 years ago and kept adding new collections and categories to it.

‘Queen V’ updates her fans on offers across her website and her tennis practice, and she also communicates with fans whenever she can. When Venus decided to interact with fans, she faced an unusual question about the WTA’s rules regarding fashion.

The former world number one recently did a Q&A session with her fans through her official brand account on Instagram. She captioned her story, “Ask away your tennis?’s!” She answered many questions regarding her health and her brand, and even cleared some tennis doubts of fans and provided them with her valuable input.

One fan asked Venus, “Are WTA players allowed to wear lipstick or other makeup during matches?” The 5-time Wimbledon Championships winner replied, “Absolutely. It’s just, um, you kinda have to wear the permanent wear because it will come all over. It’s when you usually wipe the towel. So whatever you wear, you are gonna have to figure how to do waterproof.”

The American legend even revealed that some players put on make-up before playing. She animatedly said, “I have seen other players like putting on foundation before they play. I don’t know how it stays on, but I have seen them do it. I don’t, but, uh, in the past, I have wore an eyeliner. Never tried lipstick. I think it’s gonna be fun.”  

Venus always dazzled her fans with her unique and out-of-the-box fashion choices, which still stand out.
