Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams’ relationship is unique. Their story is just like those tales where people with different interests get connected by fate. While the 23 times Grand Slam champion was already the biggest name in tennis, Ohanian, who had barely any interest in sports, was renowned for co-founding Reddit. The tennis world was surprised when Serena disclosed her relationship with Ohanian, as she was rumored to be dating the Canadian rapper Drake at the time.

The co-founder of Reddit took to Twitter and shared Williams’ pictures from the year 2004. Dressed in a black Nike outfit, she was fighting for the US Open trophy back then, whereas he was still in a different phase of his life. “Damn, I was still running my phpbb forum from my uva apt…hadn’t even registered reddit.com yet,” tweeted Ohanian.

The former World no.1 made a comeback from a knee injury and started that season by securing the Miami Open. She suffered a dry spell throughout the year and expressed her disappointment by the number of times wrong line calls were made in her quarterfinal match against Jennifer Capriati at the US Open.
