

American professional golfer, Phil Mickelson, recently registered his name in the history books. At 50, he became the oldest player to win a major on the PGA Tour Championships. It is undoubtedly a great achievement and many tennis players including Caroline Wozniacki have extended their congratulations to him.

This was the sixth major for Phil Mickelson. The American broke the record of Julius Boros who was earlier the oldest to win a major at 48. It is because of this spectacular feat that the American is receiving appreciation from the entire sports fraternity.

Former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki wrote a special message for Mickelson. In the tweet, she wrote that Mickelson’s victory would inspire her husband to win a major in golf.

Wozniacki’s husband David Lee is a former American basketball player. He was even a 2-time NBA All-Star player who also has an interest in golf.

Following Wozniacki, American tennis star Jessica Pegula also congratulated Mickelson for his astonishing accomplishment. She tweeted a beautiful note for the champion.
