“Have Given My Husband Belief”: Caroline Wozniacki and Other Tennis Stars Congratulate Phil Mickelson on PGA Championship Win

American professional golfer, Phil Mickelson, recently registered his name in the history books. At 50, he became the oldest player to win a major on the PGA Tour Championships. It is undoubtedly a great achievement and many tennis players including Caroline Wozniacki have extended their congratulations to him.

This was the sixth major for Phil Mickelson. The American broke the record of Julius Boros who was earlier the oldest to win a major at 48. It is because of this spectacular feat that the American is receiving appreciation from the entire sports fraternity.

Former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki wrote a special message for Mickelson. In the tweet, she wrote that Mickelson’s victory would inspire her husband to win a major in golf.

“Wow!! Congrats Phil Mickelson!! You have given my husband belief he can still make it on tour!” wrote Wozniacki on Twitter.

Wozniacki’s husband David Lee is a former American basketball player. He was even a 2-time NBA All-Star player who also has an interest in golf.

Jessica Pegula also joins the list along with Caroline Wozniacki

Following Wozniacki, American tennis star Jessica Pegula also congratulated Mickelson for his astonishing accomplishment. She tweeted a beautiful note for the champion.

She even used the hashtag #thelimitdoesnotexist clearly indicating that there is no limit for any sportsman; age is just a number and a player can play and win for as long as he can stay strong.

Phil Mickelson’s triumph is a testimony that if one has willpower, anything is possible at any age. He proved that a player can not only play at 50 but can even be victorious if he plays well. The same is even true for Roger Federer and Serena Williams in tennis since they have continued to give tough competition to the youngsters.
