The 94th Academy Awards, popularly known as the Oscars, were a special one for the tennis fraternity. American superstar Beyonce opened the ceremony with a stupendous performance of ‘Be Alive’, a song from the King Richard film. The movie is about the role of Venus and Serena Williams’ father, Richard Williams, in the success of his daughters.
Further, the evening turned even more special as Will Smith won his first-ever Oscar and took home the ‘Best Actor’ award for the film, King Richard. The American actor has been dominating in this award category by winning it in other award functions as well. It was a well-deserved win for Smith, who had aptly portrayed the role of Richard Williams.

Recently, Beyonce shared some BTS pictures of her, where she paid homage to the King Richard film.

The 40-year-old took to Instagram where she posted some BTS photos of her in a yellow Oscars gown, carrying a tennis ball clutch. It had a cape that extended from her shoulders to the floor. She also shared pictures involving her husband, Jay-Z, as the power couple posed confidently.

It was a truly memorable day for the King Richard family. Earlier, Will Smith delivered an emotional speech while accepting his award. He said, “Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family…I want to say thank you to Venus and Serena and the entire Williams family for entrusting me with your story. That’s what I want to do. I want to be an ambassador of that kind of love, care, and concern.”
