Ohanian loves to build things that provide huge returns. And the biggest motivation behind this is his daughters. He said, “Also make me so proud, especially when my little girls grow up and, you know, saw what I did for a living.” And that’s why whatever he does, Ohanian can’t do it half-heartedly. Rightly so, Serena Williams’s husband made good investment choices, aligning with his goal of making women’s sports popular. And after over 5 years of journey, few investment decisions have borne fruits. Ohanian’s Angel City FC’s valuation has skyrocketed to $250 million. But this was just the beginning, as Ohanian has a new goal in sight when it comes to athletics.

Alexis Ohanian’s focus shifts to making Athlos a regular affair

This year has been quite eventful for Alexis Ohanian. After enjoying the Olympics to its fullest, he decided to bring a mini version home for many sports enthusiasts who were unable to watch the action live. What’s more? It was a beautiful mix of athletics and a concert by Meghan-thee-stallion! Athlos in New York City featured the 5-time Olympic medalist, Gabby Thomas, along with other big names. After the success of the first edition, Ohanian wants it to be an annual thing for sports fans around the world.

In the same conversation with Jemele Hill, Ohanian elaborated on his goal. He said, “At a minimum, I want this to be an important part of the New York Sports landscape. It is in the same way that the US Open is one of those must-attend events not just for tennis fans, but for New Yorkers Americans, or International fans. Like it is a marquee event of athletic excellence.”
