The Japanese tennis player, Naomi Osaka, reached unprecedented heights at a very young age as she won her first Grand Slam title at the age of 20. Additionally, she defeated one of the greatest tennis players, Serena Williams, in the US Open final. Apart from making her mark on the tennis court, Osaka has also reached the realm of the film industry.
The former US Open champion, Osaka, was involved in a 20-minute documentary film, “MINK”; she was the executive producer. Additionally, Osaka recently urged her fans to watch the film as she wants them to get inspired by the 20-minute documentary.

The 4-time Grand Slam winner, Naomi Osaka, previously stated that she was proud to be a part of the documentary film, “MINK.” She worked with the Oscar-winning director, Ben Proudfoot, on this project.

The popular documentary film is based on the story of a Japanese woman named Patsy Mink, who was the first Asian-American woman to be a congresswoman.. During her career, Mink faced many challenges and barriers related to social issues such as racism and sexism. She later played a huge role in the formation of a law that prohibits gender discrimination.
Osaka’s performance in the 2022 season
The former Australian Open champion is having an underperforming season as she has struggled with injuries and poor form. She recently pulled out from the Japan Open after she got a walkover in the first round of the tournament.

The 4-time Grand Slam champion was previously struggling with an Achilles injury which forced her to pull out of Wimbledon. She also missed the Italian Open in Rome because of another injury. Osaka’s only notable performance of the season came at the Miami Open, where she reached the finals of the tournament, losing to the current World no.1, Iga Świątek.
