Alycia Parks‘ run for the doubles title in Miami witnessed an unexpected end. Partnered up with Asia Muhammad, the tennis star faced a disappointing defeat against the duo of Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe. Although she lost the chance to lift the trophy, she still captivated the attention of countless fans, including Venus Williams.

Along with millions of people who reserved their couches to watch the semi-finals match, WTA star Venus Williams also became a spectator. In a recent Instragram story in which she captured a glimpse of the live stream, she mentioned, “I’m sitting here watching Alycia Parks.”

As she watches the dominance that the 23-year-old presented, she found herself lost in the memory of the golden days when she used to play doubles alongside her sister and tennis legend Serena Williams. “I miss playing doubles with my partner up there,” she added, tagging the doubles partner with whom she broke records and created history!

“When Serena retired I retired from doubles as well. When you have Serena Williams as a partner you have seen the glory at the mountaintop, you can’t go any higher! Sorry I don’t have better news,” Venus said in an interview. As both of them continue to stand as a beacon that every tennis player looks up to, their doubles career will always remain one of the greatest elements of the tennis scene.
