Before the start of the Wimbledon Championships, love birds Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas were all over the internet. The world speculated whether they are going to play mixed doubles as a couple, and they confirmed the news exciting the ‘Tsitsidosa’ shippers. Badosa won her first round against Alison-Riske Amritraj a day before.

On the other hand, Tsitsipas is yet to play a decider set against Andy Murray. The early exit of Anett Kontaveit and the withdrawal of Nick Kyrgios already upset the Tennis world. The unfortunates at this year’s Gram Slam are just snowballing. Badosa withdrew from the match against Marta Kostyuk owing to her injury. What’s worse, she had the most embarrassing press conference ever.

After her withdrawal, Badosa appeared for the post-match conference in which a reporter thought she won the match. The Spanish player had to inform about her withdrawal herself as the reporter was in confusion as to who won the match. For obvious reasons, the twenty-five-year-old seemed visibly disappointed and the questions only let down her mood further.

In a post by BBC on Twitter, a reporter was seen congratulating Badosa on her win. He said, “Congratulations on your win.” Shocked and taken aback, Badosa immediately corrected him by saying, “I lost.” There was no reaction from the reporter and he went on asked “You missed some matches because of injury. Could you please tell us about your fitness and confidence level?”

The question the reporter asked confused Badosa even more as it looked like he still did not understand what just happened in the match. So Badosa clarified the outcome of the match again. The moderator then had to intervene and explain to the reporter again. Badosa replied to his questions patiently and let down the fans of ‘Tsitsidosa’ with her startling revelation.

When the reporter finally understood that Badosa lost the match, he posed the same question again. At this point, the young Spaniard was irritated but calmly replied, “Well, I am not feeling at my best form. I just retired, so yeah. I wish I could feel better.” She looked like she can’t wait to storm off from the press conference.

Badosa lost her first set to Kostyuk and then took a medical break after which she declared her retirement. The dream of playing mixed doubles with her boyfriend also turned to ashes as she could not go any further in the tournament.
