‘Surprise Them With the Attack’ – When ‘Big Fella’ Shaquille O’Neal Attempted to Grunt His Way Through a Match Against Serena Williams

The 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams has been playing tennis for more than 25 years on the tour. During her time, she worked with many sporting personalities from different sports. In one such collaboration, she once made a hilarious video with NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, which turned out to be hilarious. 

In that video, Serena was playing tennis with the former NBA star and was also trying to teach him how to grunt like her. Notably, O’Neal retired from professional basketball back in 2011 and Serena is on the verge of her retirement at the US Open this year.

When Serena Williams tried to teach tennis to Shaquille O’Neal

Back in 2009, while practicing with Serena, O’Neal boasted about his tennis prowess, which did not impress the great American tennis player.I know how to play tennis, that what’s you don’t understand, O’Neal said to Serena.

In reply, Serena said, Okay, cuz I didn’t see it.

Then the former NBA player said, What do mean you didn’t see it? I just hit it over that thing twice.

However, Serena trolled O’Neal, as she said, Anyone can do that. Just keep the grunt and surprise them with the attack.

As seen in the video, Serena was moving O’Neal from one side to another, as the former basketball player was having a hard time. One time, Serena even played a drop shot, and the former Lakers star could not reach that ball.

In the end, Serena gave some easy balls for O’Neal to smash. As a result, the former NBA player absolutely destroyed those balls, as he talked about feeling good after hitting those balls.

Meanwhile, Serena has reached the third round of  the US Open. Today, she will play against the Australian tennis player Ajla Tomljanovic for a seat in the fourth round.

Notably, she took part in the doubles tournament as well, partnering with her sister Venus Williams. Unfortunately, they lost in the opening round yesterday, as Serena played her final doubles match.

After the doubles loss, Serena will be focusing on her singles match, as she talked about enjoying her tennis at the moment. Unsurprisingly, she received massive crowd support in all of her matches so far. It will be interesting to see if she can go all the way with the immense support of the New York crowd.
