It was yet another heartbreaking Grand Slam final for 28-year-old Tunisian, Ons Jabeur. Playing in her third major final after defeats in last year’s Wimbledon and the US Open finals, Jabeur was expected to clinch her maiden Grand Slam title, given that she was the favorite in the summit clash. However, Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic had other plans. The 24-year-old proved far more superior than Jabeur today as she defeated her in straight sets to clinch the 2023 Wimbledon Championships title. Despite a saddening time for Jabeur, she was involved in a special moment after the match.

The three-time Grand Slam finalist was in tears after the match, as she was short of courage to come up to terms with her tame defeat. As she proceeded to the court for the interview and trophy ceremony, a special moment took place.
