Coco Gauff channels another side of her personality in the London Stadium

The nineteen-year-old attended the concert of ‘The Weekend’ in ‘London Stadium’ and took some time off from all the pressure. She took to her Instagram story to share the update with her fans, and we even spotted Caty McNally, who, too, exited the tournament in her first round of singles against Jodie Anna Burrage. It seems only fitting that these two players take some time off together to kickstart their doubles.

The story also featured one of the most loved classics of the singer, ‘Tears in the Rain,‘ from the album, ‘Kiss Land,’ released in 2013. Gauff would have been just 9 years when the song was released, and this must have brought back childhood memories to her. This shows the appreciation of Gauff for timeless classics. The teenage sensation is always drawn to art and nature, and her Instagram profile is proof of this.

What are the songs that the teenager was most impressed with to kickstart her doubles?

The teenager expressed how impressed she was by the singing and dedicated a story to the artist. She clicked a mesmerizing shot of the stadium from a particular angle and tagged ‘Weekend’ in the story.

While Gauff enjoyed the concert, she particularly posted the clips of two songs that ‘The Weekend’ nailed. The second song is ‘I was never there,’ from the album, ‘My Dear Melancholy,’ released in 2018. She captioned another story, “the set design,” and let the beauty of the shot she captured do the work of defining how beautiful the song and the set are.

My journey as a sports writer could not have been more hyperbolic. Growing up, I buried myself in books and could not play any sport I wanted. So, I channeled my passion towards watching them extensively and imitating the players. My Master’s degree in Applied Psychology helped me understand the dynamics and thought processes of athletes. I enjoy watching the interviews of my favorite athletes as much as I enjoy their games. Gaining athletes’ perspectives helped me understand their gameplay better and why they chose a certain shot or made a specific decision. As an English literature and Journalism graduate, I tend to research extensively and store a lot of information that threatens to exhaust my memory. At ES, I have focused on writing elaborate perspectives, reporting interviews, controversial topics, and coresport news along with the occasional pop culture article. Movies, series, fiction, food, music, and painting are a few of the many things that keep my sanity in check. I highly anticipate current-generation tennis champions to spice the game up and create more on-court rivalries. I hope Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, Jannik Sinner, Taylor Fritz, and Carlos Alcaraz achieve their best and carve a place for themselves among the tennis legends.
