‘Not Feeling Worse’- Martina Navratilova Provides Key Health Update After COVID Strikes Her at Wimbledon Championships 2022

We missed Martina Navratilova in the centenary celebration of centre court at the Wimbledon Championships. The legendary player was commentating at the grass court major when she contacted the COVID-19.

She will now be missing the Wimbledon Championships. She took to her Twitter to give updates about her health and well-being.

Martina Navratilova recovering from the COVID-19

Navratilova is in quarantine because of her health. She recently shared updates about her health with her fans on Twitter. She said, “Not feeling worse today than yesterday, so I guess that’s good, looking forward to watching the tennis on the Telly:).

The 18-time grand slam winner is focusing on getting recovered. Her fans filled her comments section with good wishes. However, she will now see the game at her home while recovering.

Martina Navratilova won nine singles women grand slam titles out of the 18 she clinched during the duration of her whole career. The player had a mastery over the grass-court and her undying love for it made her a tough challenge to face at Wimbledon.

Centenary celebration and the COVID-19 scare

The tennis fraternity and fans missed Navratilova’s presence at the centenary celebration of the centre court. Many tennis legends like Chris Evert, John McEnroe, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic were present at the celebration.

There were other players too who have missed the grass-court major. As Wimbledon has banned the Russian and Belarusian tennis players from playing.

Martina Navratilova defended the move by Wimbledon when players like Naomi Osaka showed doubts about appearing for the grass-court major. This was because the WTA and ATP have stripped Wimbledon of its ranking points.

Whereas, players like Matteo Berrettini and Marin Cilic have dropped out of Wimbledon because of the same reasons. As they both had tested positive because of COVID-19.
