‘On My Way to Wimbledon’ – Serena Williams Drops a Major Hint on Her Potential Comeback to Tennis

It is difficult to climb the ladder to the top in any sport. However, maintaining that top level is even more difficult. But, the American tennis legend, Serena Williams, has done that throughout her illustrious career. She is the epitome of success as far as tennis is concerned. The younger Williams sister dominated the women’s tennis ever since she step her foot onto the big stage.
At the time when players like Maria Sharapova, Venus Williams, and Martina Hingis were competing with Serena, the 23-time Grand Slam champion overcame all odds to win some of the biggest laurels in the sport. She is regarded as one of the greatest players to have played tennis. Between the period 2007 to 2017, she won a Grand Slam title every year except in 2011, when she lost in the finals of the US Open. It just displays the level of consistency with which she dominated women’s tennis.

Recently, the 40-year-old is striving to make a comeback after a lengthy injury lay-off. She shared a video giving an apparent hint about her return to tennis.
Serena Williams to make a comeback at Wimbledon?
The former World Number 1 shared a TikTok video, displaying her athleticism by running with lightning speed wearing heels. She captioned the video, “On my way to Wimbledon,” dropping a major hint on her comeback at Wimbledon. Moreover, Serena looked fit as ever during the sprint, shrugging off her injury concerns.

It has been over nine months since we last saw the younger Williams sister in action on the tennis court. She had a forgettable tournament at Wimbledon last year. Playing in the first round against Aliaksandra Sasnovich, Serena slipped on the wet grass and injured her hamstring. Subsequently, she had to retire midway through the first set when the scores were level at 3-games-all.

However, determined as ever, Serena wants to return to tennis. Earlier this year, Serena revealed that she had returned to light training. With Wimbledon scheduled in June, we’ll have to potentially wait for another three and a half months to watch Serena play tennis again.
