Shake-ups in the WTA stars coaching teams are constantly pouring crucial updates for fans this past month. Iga Swiatek is one to agree. The Polish sensation split with longtime coach Tomasz Wiktorowski in a shocking revelation. However, with the highly successful partnership with the Polish on the outs, adding a fresh member to her camp has kept the community wondering what’s next. With the WTA Finals date looming, Swiatek’s coach hiring episode has prompted a response from Poland’s former President.

Appearing on the ‘Polsat Sport Talk‘, former Poland President Aleksander Kwasniewski highlighted some troubles for his countrywoman. Even if it’s with/without the presence of a new coach, it would take a toll on her performance. Without Wiktorowski, Swiatek may find it challenging to synchronize with a new team member who will need to adapt to her established work ethic and team management.

He said, “The question is who will be her coach and how well he will cope. Unlike the first coach, he will find a more formed Iga, who knows her stuff, has an ego and a strong personality. It has to be a coach who will find the key to her. For me, the most interesting tournament will be the WTA Finals in Riyadh.”

He continued, “If Iga, after all these experiences, performs a bit calmly and shows class, then I will consider the situation under control. If it turns out that winning is a problem, then we are dealing with a more serious problem.” For those unaware, WTA No. 5 Elena Rybakina also parted ways with her longtime coach mere days before the Polish sensation’s announcement.

Swiatek surprised everyone by skipping the entire Asian hardcourt swing and, shortly afterward, shook fans with her break-up with Wiktorowski as a coach. Her decision elicited experts like Barbara Schett to validate her decision and iterated the Pole’s goal to extend her dominance beyond clay courts. “Still wants to develop her game outside of clay. She needs a different pair of eyes and different stimulations.”

That only happens if she finds a suitable replacement. And, according to reports, Swiatek’s coaching conundrum might conclude sooner than expected.

Journalist claims Iga Swiatek could step under the tutelage of Rafael Nadal’s ex-coach

Polish superstar Iga Swiatek not only endured a split with her longtime coach but acknowledged her idol, Rafael Nadal’s decision to draw the curtain on his stellar career. After heaping praise on her “biggest inspiration”, mildly comforting updates on Swiatek’s coaching struggles were aired by a journalist – precisely highlighting Swiatek’s upside from the Spanish legend’s retirement.

During a conversation with ‘Sport.pl’, Asa journalist Nacho Albarran claimed Carlos Moya would presumably be up for grabs. He has been relieved of his coaching duties with Rafa after retirement. This, in turn, could be pivotal for the Pole. The Spanish coach, already versed in notable clay-court tactics, could potentially lead the five-time major winner to glory if he decides to join her camp. Carlos Moya would be a good trainer for Swiatek. Moya played very well on clay, knows this surface very well, and knows a lot about tennis.”

If that happens, Swiatek could inculcate drastic improvements in her game. The Polish is in dire need of an awakening. Underwhelming results and absence from the tour have proved troublesome for Swiatek. Likewise, her Belarusian rival, Aryna Sabalenka, already snatched her WTA No. 1 spot. Therefore, she needs to get back to her glory days.
