Coco Gauff isn’t just a superstar on the tennis courts; she’s a multi-talented powerhouse who knows how to shine off the court too! From dominating matches to making waves at events and endorsement deals, Gauff always brings her A-game. But in 2023, she took her off-court charisma to the next level by swapping her racquet for the silver screen in her exciting debut. Now, reflecting on her first taste of Hollywood, Gauff has opened up about the whirlwind experience of stepping into the world of primetime.
The American tennis sensation wrapped her year with a dominant victory at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. She also managed to clinch titles at the ASB Classic and the China Open and is now gearing up for a fruitful season in 2025. But as she enjoys her off-season, the star player is seemingly reminiscing some of the interesting moments of her off-court life, including her cameo in the All American: Homecoming TV series.
Taking to her Instagram story, the 20-year-old shared a clip of her role in the movie where she can be seen delivering a speech and motivating other athletes. Gauff revealed how nervous she was for her role and highlighted her experience. “Me doing random side quests 🤣😭 shoutout to all the actors out there I was so nervous for this lol,” she wrote as the caption. “I forgot that I did this lol😭 @cwallamericanhc,” the star player cheekily added.

For the unversed, Gauff appeared as herself in the 14th episode of the second season of the television sports series All American: Homecoming featuring prominent actors like Geffri Maya and Camille Hyde. Interestingly, this is not the first time Gauff has opened up about her experiences from her acting debut.
Speaking at a press conference during the Miami Open last year, Gauff highlighted similar sentiments and shared how difficult it was for her to act in the series. “I don’t know if I would do it again for the acting part,” she said. “I rated it a 2 out of the 10,” the star player humorously added. She also shared that her expectations were nowhere close to what actually happened during the shoot.
“That process was nothing like I imagined. We were there from, like, 5 in the morning till like 8 at night. I didn’t realize how many times you had to do each scene over and over, especially like the first scene in the show, which is technically the last scene we shot, I look so dead and tired because I was tired. They do a really good job,” she said. But while Gauff might be skeptical about appearing on the silver screen again, she has received huge praise for her role from many, with Geffri Maya leading the fray.

When Coco Gauff’s humility was lauded after her role in All American: Homecoming
Coco Gauff has received praise for not just her on-court ventures but also her off-court endeavors. Recently, one of the key stars of the All American: Homecoming, Geffri Maya, engaged in an interaction with the Atlanta Magazine and shared what it was like to work with Gauff last year.
Speaking in the interview, Maya said, “We spent a few days working together with her, and she was very kind and very humble. I think humility is so important when you’re gifted. I was very grateful to have experienced that with her. Continuing further, Maya added that it was really special for the team to have worked with Gauff.

“So to have Coco Gauff to be a part of that, that says a lot about what she stands for. And it’s not just her athleticism; it stands for so much more. So, yes, I’m grateful and appreciative of her, her work, and her courage to come on and be a person that’s so major for the show.” For now, it would be interesting to see if the star player would try her hands out on the acting again and give a mesmerizing surprise to her fans.
