Coco Gauff is only 19 years old, but her tender age isn’t stopping her from terrorizing opponents on the tennis court. Gauff’s World No. 6 WTA ranking is a reflection of her stellar achievements so far, which includes 3 WTA Tour singles and 8 doubles titles. Many believe that Gauff has the potential to replicate the success that Venus and Serena Williams enjoyed for the past two decades, and who could blame them?

Right now, Gauff is participating in the qualifiers of the Billie Jean King Cup, and in a press conference, she expressed her admiration for the Williams sisters. She also reflected on how much it means to inspire youngsters from Palm Beach County, the place where her tennis journey began.

Humility is also a part of Gauff’s personality, and it came to light when she refused to be compared to the Williams sisters. “I’m nowhere near the level of them, but maybe I can have 10% of what they did for tennis, maybe I can do that in the future,” she concluded.

This year, Delray Beach in Palm Beach County is hosting the Billie Jean King Cup, a tournament that is similar to the Davis Cup. It’s an opportunity for Gauff to move on from her 2023 Australian Open disappointment. Her first challenge is to represent the United States and overcome the Austrian challenge.

The young American tennis talent would also be hopeful that her idols Venus and Serena show up to cheer the United States on. Invitations have been sent to the Williams sisters, and it would mean the world for Gauff to have their support in her backyard.

More importantly for Gauff, the Billie Jean Cup would give her the opportunity to warm up for the French Open. Gauff will be hopeful for a first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros.
