Patrick Mouratoglou has made an unparalleled contribution to Serena Williams’ professional career. It was under his aegis that the former World No.1 strengthened her dominance on the court; adding 10 more Grand Slam and an Olympic Gold. A feat rarely achieved by any player-coach duo in the Open Era.

Serena Williams’ retirement announcement was a shock for every tennis fan. The 23-time Grand Slam champion’s powerful play and the dominance on the tennis court were appreciated by everyone. Hence, right after her retirement announcement, there were rumors of her surprise comeback doing rounds.

And when her former coach was asked the same question by Eurosport, “Do I want to see her play? I want to see her play again,”. He responded affirmatively and was elated to see her comeback. But he also emphasized on Serena’s enjoyment. He said, “Yes, yes, if she enjoys herself on the court. For that, she has to feel strong. If she doesn’t feel strong, she won’t enjoy herself.”
