A remarkable tennis team that formed after the 2012 French Open is nine years old now. So far, this team has collected ten Grand Slam titles and an Olympic Gold medal. Hence, there is no question why they are among the best player-coach tennis teams of the 21st century. They are none other than tennis queen Serena Williams and her coach Patrick Mouratoglou.
Unquestionably, the pair has come a long way with a fair share of glories and upsets. However, there is one thing about them that has only got better with time, and that is their passion for the sport.
Recently, in recognition of their anniversary, the French coach penned an inspiring post on Instagram. Along with looking back to when they started, Patrick also stated their mission ahead.

Patrick Mouratoglou’s message on completion of 9 years with Serena Williams
Nine years ago, Serena had lost for the first time in the opening round at Roland-Garros. After that, she joined hands with Patrick for the better. As for the coach, he claimed partnership with 23-time Grand Slam champion the “most inspiring journey” of his life. Now, he is looking forward to winning more with her.
“This time of the year marks 9 years of working with Serena. What started with a vision, is now one of the most inspiring and motivating journeys I have embarked on. Never once have I doubted in your capacities and your strength. 9 years later, we are still striving for another Grand Slam and history making,” Patrick wrote on Instagram.

Only recently, Serena suffered a heartbreaking blow during her first-round match at the Wimbledon Championships 2021. She slipped and injured her leg, ending her dream to win her 24th Grand Slam title in London. No doubt that the pair will return with high hopes at the US Open in August.

The former World No.1 had an inspiring run at the start of this year in the Australian Open. Despite losing in the semifinal to Osaka, Serena remained confident about the season ahead.
