“Stuck in My Head”: Simona Halep Challenges Caroline Wozniacki to Seek Revenge of Australian Open Final Loss

There have been many rumors about the return of Caroline Wozniacki. The former World No.1 retired soon after the Australian Open 2020 at the age of just 29 years. However, recently, the World No.2 Simona Halep challenged Wozniacki for a match.
Although there were speculations about a possible comeback of Wozniacki, she said that she was not thinking of it in the near future. She played some great matches in her career and one of them was the Australian Open 2018 final against Halep.
In a recent interview, Halep revealed that she had not forgotten about that match. In a nail-biting finale, Wozniacki defeated Halep 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.

“I would like to play another match with Caroline! The final of the Australian Open, lost at the limit, stuck in my head. I would have liked to play a match with her, a final,” said Halep.
Halep clearly expressed her desire of taking a revenge on Wozniacki. She highlighted that the final was something that was there on her head for a long time now.

While challenging her for a match, Halep said that she didn’t mean to ask Wozniacki to make a comeback. She said that it was just troubling her for the past some time. She added that the Danish player was still very fit and used to look fresh.
“I’m not saying not to come back, she’s very fit, she looks very good, and she continues to train,” concluded the World No.2.
