Venus Williams Joins Novak Djokovic’s Brand After Parting Ways With Nike

Venus Williams has enthralled tennis fans throughout her career. Since turning professional in 1994 as a 14-year-old, the American soon began to stamp her authority in women’s tennis, winning her first WTA title at 17. Further, in her debut appearance at the US Open in 1997, she reached the finals but lost out to Martina Hingis in the summit clash.
Since then, Venus has gone on to win seven Grand Slam singles titles, including five at Wimbledon and a couple at the US Open. She has had tremendous success in doubles too, partnering with her younger sister, Serena Williams. The two have gone on to win 14 major doubles titles. Additionally, they have also clinched three Olympic gold medals.

Now, even though away from the game in recovery mode, Venus is making great strides elsewhere. Recently, the elder Williams sister announced a new partnership with a French company, which happens to be associated with Novak Djokovic too.
Venus Williams joins Lacoste in a new partnership deal
Venus Williams will join Lacoste, after parting ways with Nike. Moreover, she has been announced as Lacoste’s Global Ambassador.

Speaking about her new partnership, Venus said, “Her clothes really transform you once you put them on. It was like role modeling for me. Working with Louise makes me feel like I want to be better; I want to work harder; I want to dig deeper inside of myself.”

Not to mention, Lacoste added another powerful athlete to its roster. Last year, the French brand had extended its partnership with 20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. The Serb’s Lacoste deal now runs through till 2025.

Coming to tennis, Venus Williams has been away from the court for quite some time now. She last played in her home country at the WTA Chicago Women’s Open back in August last year. Her lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a leg injury has plummeted her WTA rankings to Number 470 in the world.
